In topology optimization, the shape of a component "grows" out of a construction space, taking into account the corresponding boundary conditions. When that shape is conversed into a CAD model, a next step allows to further reduce stresses and strains. Any boundary conditions, such as production constraints, can be taken into account. By applying parameter optimization, for example, wall thicknesses or dimensions of beam structures can be tuned.
